THE BUTTERFLY CIRCUS (JOSHUA AND REBEKAH WEIGEL,2009)

• Write down in your notebook how Will (the main character) is described in the first circus. He is described is a pervesion of nature, as a limbless man.
• What do people do when they see him? What does Mendez say to him? (write down) People laught at him. Mendez says to him: you are magnificient and wonderful.
• Which acts can you see in Mendez's circus? (Mention at least one of them) Contorsion, Ann queen of the air, Strongers man, Trapezzi Poppy and Limbless man.
• Describe the problem of one of the artists in the circus. Stronger man was a alcolhic, Ann was a prostitute, Poppy was a musician in the street....
• What do children say to Will after his show? Children say to him: Are you scared? How did you do that? It's so high. A boy hugs him and his mum says thanks.
• What does butterfly circus mean? At first the butterfly is a cocoon and later butterfly comes out and starts flying and this means evolutions and freedom. I think the choose this name for the circus because people who work there have found their abilities and they have evolved.
